Drakulic Thoreau's it Out
Hello! Stephanie here, thank you for clicking the link. I’m hunkering down, Thoreau-style, to focus on writing a book. If this reference isn’t clear, in 1854, the writer Henry David Thoreau secluded himself to a cabin near Walden Pond in Massachusetts and wrote a book called Walden; or, Life in the Woods.
Before I lose you, no, I’m not secluding myself to a cabin in the woods, or writing about seclusion, despite how magical this sounds to me (and to my dog, Miles), but I am going to remove as many 21st century distractions…sorry, conveniences…as I can from my surroundings so that I can focus on writing.
I’ve been writing on and off for the last 4.5 years about my experiences of accidentally discovering my birth father, meeting him, losing him, and finding myself. I now want to take those pages and write some new ones and turn it into a book.
I’m not a writer, not professionally, anyway. I expect this will be an exciting and challenging journey. I’ll also be writing a weekly newsletter about my experiences, and I’ll include some snippets of the book, and maybe some pictures of my dog, Miles Davis. This will be a good opportunity for me to focus my intentions and adjust to having my writing seen by more eyes. So, if you’d like to follow along - please subscribe below.
With love and gratitude,
Stephanie
